AUDIO SCRIPT MARKUPS & CRITIQUES - September 28 at 12:30PM Pacific Time. Presented by Rick Toscan on Zoom.
For this workshop, participants will submit a 8-12 page script (not a musical) with no more than three characters. While this workshop is open to everyone, for Play Cafe members who live in the San Francisco Bay and plan to submit to the Actors Reading Writers (ARW) live in-person 2026 Audio Drama opportunity, this is the perfect workshop for you. Rick will review a markup of your full script, providing a guide for final revisions and submission to the ARW competition.
Through analysis of participants’ scripts, we’ll cover the essentials of writing audio drama while also exploring techniques for live presentation with sound effects and musical accompaniment. Writer Ticket
The fee to participate as a WRITER is $32 for Play Cafe and $40 for non-members. Play Cafe Members, write to programs@playcafe.org to request the discount code for Writers. Register early! Only the first 10 scripts submitted will be read and critiqued. Because scripts are due Aug. 27, Writers must register no later than Aug. 22. After registering you will be sent SCRIPT EXCERPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES and SCRIPT NOTES FOR WRITING AUDIO DRAMA. These materials will be sent from programs@playcafe.org
